| Launched in 1989, the School's part-time bachelor's degree programs are part of the national higher education for the in-service adults who can pass the National Higher Education Entrance Examinations for Adults. Most of the programs are the three-year top-up ones for those who have received a diploma from two- or three-year college studies and want to earn a bachelor's degree. Currently there are more than 16,750 registered students in over 50 practical specialties like Computer Science and Technology, Business Administration, Communications Engineering, Electric Science and Technology, Machinery Manufacturing and Automation, Clinic Medicine, Nursing, Medical Imaging, International Economy and Trade, Finance, Accounting, Logistics Management, International Marketing, Public Administration, Gardening, Business English, and Law.
In order to nurture professionals with good English competence so as to meet the needs of China's modernization and Shanghai's internationalization, and to promote the cultural exchange between the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and international students, the School also offers the three-year top-up bachelor's degree program of Business Administration in the instruction language of English.
