| Inform, Impress and Achieve: Professional Communication
Skills |
|
Teacher: Gabor Holch Course Outline Success is based on personal efficiency and teamwork – and both rely on effective communication. Unlike web design or electric repairs, communication is something we do even if we are not good at it, every day, for hours on end. This training will help you develop your communication skills to the next level, saving (believe me) enormous amounts of time, effort, worry and loss of face. You will find out that most of the time the problem is not that you do not know how to say it; the problem is that you do not know what to say and why. And to whom? Once these questions are answered, the how is much easier. The course consists of two consecutive content units. The first will give you the “big classics” of professional and cross-cultural communication such as goal setting, choosing the right medium and learning dozens of practical tricks to become a better writer, caller, presenter and negotiator. In the second part you will learn and use the latest achievements of applied communication tools such as non-confrontational communication, behavioural practices and transactional communication techniques. The course will help you to become your own master, and adopt methods, instruments and style that fit your own needs best. In a practical, active atmosphere, you will meet tools and tricks that top managers use, learn from real-life case studies and discuss your own experiences with co-learners and the trainer. At the “Inform, Impress and Achieve” course, you will learn or practice: w Scores of examples why professional communication breaks down w To decide why you want to communicate and what to say or write w How to choose the best medium, such as mail, meeting or presentation w What to put down on paper or in a mail – and how w How to develop a confident presentation style w How to put together materials for professional presentations w Effective negotiation preparation and practice w How to get things done on the phone w What makes top managers sound so confident and assertive w How to share bad news and criticism without spoiling your (and their) day Tuition fee: RMB 3800 (25 hours) Spring Session Section
