Course Outline
In this course you will learn how to use two of the most powerful tools
available to a designer or digital artist; the software Adobe Illustrator
and Adobe Photoshop. The vast spectrum of practical applications include;
simple photo retouching, digital art and illustration, poster design,
business card design, pattern design, image preparation for web and print.
Primarily a tutorial based learning environment, students will be guided
through the various aspects of the software, from basic concepts to more
advanced techniques.
Illustrator lessons include the following:
Using basic shapes
Drawing with the pen tool
Working with placed images
How to use typographic elements
Working with layers
Creating patterns
Gradient mesh and gradients
Make a clipping mask
Brushes and effects
3D effects
Photoshop lessons include the following:
Retouch your photos
Select and edit specific parts of your image
Adjust color and contrast
Using layers
How to use channels
Paths and vector shapes
Typography
Using and creating brushes
Creating patterns
Make a clipping mask
Advanced special effects
Upon completion of this course you will have gained an in-depth practical
knowledge of the software Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. With this
knowledge you will be able to give sophisticated new form to your creative
ideas.

QUORUM
Classes will commence as soon as a quorum of eight students has been
reached. It is therefore important that you register on-line by clicking
the "online registration" button. Quorums will be reached faster if you
invite a friend, colleague and/or family member to enroll with you. A 5%
discount applies when 5 or more students apply together for the same
course. Or 3% when 3 of your friends join (Please send us an e-mail with
the names in the group) We will duly notify you when classes are
due to commence.
Tuition fees may be submitted by cash, bank card or
credit card. With the original receipt, a refund in full can be made if
the prospective student notifies us in writing of his/her withdrawal
from the course one week before the commencement date. If using a
foreign bank card, a non-refundable charge of approximately 3.1% of the
tuition fee (about RMB140) will be deducted by the bank to cover
transaction costs.
