Candi Yang holds two degrees: a BA in English and an
MA in Applied Linguistics.
After graduation from Chongqing University with a bachelor’s degree in
1992, Candi Yang worked as a full-time translator in a company for 5
years, which provided her with rich practical experience and a keen
desire to explore in-depth differences between the languages (Chinese
and English). Hence she readily enrolled herself as a full-time student
at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1997, one of
China’s prestigious universities. Majoring in Applied Linguistics which
was language-teaching oriented, Candi did much teaching practice with
students from home and abroad in her MA course. When she obtained her MA
in year 2000 she was allowed to stay on the campus as a full-time
teacher due to her excellent performance. |
As her family moved to Shanghai in 2003 Candi had a job
transfer to Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). In the two equally
prestigious universities, she has taught courses like English, Chinese and
Translation (between English and Chinese) for some 7 years. She was rewarded
with an honorable title of “Excellent Teacher of Shanghai Jiao Tong
University” for year 2004. As a devoted mother of a preschooler, Candi
possesses a helpful, patient and easy-going disposition. Her passion for
sharing knowledge, her dedication towards her students and her professional
insight to the languages will ensure a very good quality of teaching with
simplicity and efficiency. |
