Farah Tan Imran is a Singapore born fashion designer who has been working in the international fashion industry for over 10 years. She has a Masters degree in fashion design and experience working with fashion houses in the Asia pacific and European region. Farah started her design career in Melbourne after graduating with first class honors from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She worked as a marketing manager for Australian high street label Witchery before returning to Singapore where she was head buyer for the fashion house of Prada. Her list of accomplishments range from designing a wide array of women’s wear for many new boutiques and large design companies around the world, to managing, marketing and merchandising for retail giants like Esprit, Laura Ashley, Jean Paul Gaultier and Dolce and Gabbana.
Farah has been living and working here in Shanghai for the past three years.
She was previously employed by Raffles Design Institute, teaching Fashion
Design, Fashion Production, Fashion Marketing and Fashion Merchandising
courses to up and coming young designers in the industry, training them in
various aspects of design, such as figure drawing, rendering, technical
drawings, pattern draping, sewing, pattern drafting, fashion marketing and
merchandising. Currently, she is designing and managing her own children’s
clothing label, “Apple Tree”.
