Shanghai Jiao Tong University International Continuing Education Center
Shanghai Jiao Tong University is one of China’s oldest
universities, with a history of more than 110 years. It is one of the most
influential academic institutions in China, having educated many of China’s
leading politicians, intellectuals, scientists and engineers.
Western Continuing Education Training Program at ICEC, SJTU
In order to better serve the foreign community as
Shanghai becomes increasingly internationalized, the International
Continuing Education Center (ICEC) at Jiao Tong University began in fall of
2005 to offer classes for adult foreigners living in Shanghai. The classes
are taught in English by foreign teachers, many of whom are professionals
working in Shanghai in their respective fields of expertise. Each teacher
brings to the program not only a high level of academic knowledge, but also
the knowledge and skills that are gained only through years of practical
work experience. The 65 air conditioned classrooms and new computer
lab at ICEC
are each equipped with multimedia devices to facilitate learning.
Around 700 students from nations across the globe have
enjoyed the classes at ICEC. Having benefited from this experience, we
are now rolling out our courses with adjusted program management and focus.
The ICEC campus is conveniently located on Kaixuan Road,
a mere 5 minutes walk from either Yishan Road (Exit 4) or Hongqiao Road station
(Exit 2)
of the metro lines 3 & 4.
The next Semester commences at November 10th and
finishes on around December 20th, 2008.
Upon completing a course, each student receives a
certificate with the Jiao Tong University official stamp.
For students taking the TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
course, the certificate is proof of qualification to teach by TEFL
standards.
The mission of the ICEC
foreigners’ classes program is to meet the continuing education needs of
adult foreigners living in Shanghai. We are here to serve you, and your
