答:经国家教育部批准,交大成教院今年首次向香港招生衔接学位课程, 希望招收应届的副学士、高级文凭课程的毕业生,并且符合我们的招生条件;但考虑到香港有一批质量较好的毕业生,我们可以招生部分历届毕业生,但是申请者的平均积分点必须在2.8以上。
问:上课地点?教学设备?
答:交大成教院的所有学生,均在徐家汇校区上课。成教学院的所有教室均是最新的、现代化的多媒体教室。 问:成教学院的师资情况如何?
答:任课教师主要是交大成教院的专任教师,部分来自上海交通大学其它院系、以及其它大学的优秀师资。
问:这些课程举办了多久?
答:交大成教院成立于1956年,本次面向香港招生的四个专业在国内已经开办多年,但是全部课程采用双语授课是首次。
问:《招生简章》中毕业文凭或学位的颁发者,是否无论注明与否,均为上海交大成教学院,而不是上海交大?
答:毕业文凭或学位的颁发者均为上海交通大学,是国家统一制定的格式。 问:
这类成人教育文凭/学位的认可性如何?
答: 成人教育文凭/学位也是国家承认的学历之一,属国家教育部统一颁发的证书。
问:《招生简章》提到“所有课程考核平均成绩在75分以上”,是否意味着即使有些科目不及格,但只要平均分达到75分或以上,就属于合格?
答: 这是成教学院对夜大学生的要求,同时也将适用于衔接学位课程的所有学生, 如果某门课程不及格,学生必须重修以达到及格的要求。
问:学士学位与本科文凭课程在课程科目上有何不同?哪些是学位课程的主干课程?
答:衔接学位课程的设置与我们已有的专升本课程设置略有不同,应该是更符合香港学生的特点。按照国家要求,每个专业均设定二门课程为学位课程,这二门课程是从专业必修课中选定,科目待开学后确定。
问:先修课程是什么内容?
答:先修课程定为普通话(汉语)、高等数学,主要是为GPA低于2.8的学生开设的,目的是使这部分学生能够在开学后不掉队。
问:对普通话水平较差的同学,学院会否提供协助?
答:考虑到香港的学生普通话水平较差,学院拟采用双语授课,逐步过渡到用普通话授课。在课程设置里,将为学生开设二年的汉语课,对部分普通话水平较差的学生还开设汉语先修班。
问: 住宿地点是否有食堂?可否煮食?
答:住宿地点有社会化的食堂;但是住宿地点暂时不允许煮食。 问:是否会与本地学生一同上课/住宿?
答:成教院的所有学生均在新落成的教学大楼里上课,但不与本地学生同班、住宿,香港的学生和国内的学生可能有许多差异;但在适当时候,可以与本地学生一起开展活动。
问:学生可使用那些设施及服务?需否额外缴费?
答:学生可使用的设施及服务等同成教院的学生,图书馆的图书证每年需付30元。 问:有否助/奖学金之设立?
答:有奖学金,每学年评选一次,分几个层次,总获奖比率为10%。 问:在学期间,学生可否做兼职工作?
答:可做,但有时间和数量的限制,而且需要事先申请。 问:电话面试语言是否可用英语?口试范围如何?
答:电话面试将使用双语进行,目的是通过简短的对话了解学生的汉语及英语的语言表达能力、专业知识范围、学习动机等一般性的问题。
问:“工商管理”是否有相应的英语名称?
答:Business Administration.
Q: If an applicant cannot produce
the original certificates/transcripts, will photocopies be accepted
as evidence? A: We should receive
the photocopies of the applicants'certificates/transcripts.
Their original certificates/ transcripts should be checked by
the appointed universities. Q:
Is it necessary for applicants to submit photocopies of their
HKID or passport with their application form? A:
Yes, it is quite necessary to submit the photocopies of their
HKID. This is to be sure that we recruit only HK students who
are exempted from the written test. All the local students are
accepted through national entrance tests to get into universities.
Transcripts
Considering the fact that the students cannot provide full transcripts
until July 23, we will accept transcripts of their previous
records of Semester 1 to 3.
Recommendations Q: Can the
“Recommendations” be completed in English? A:
Recommendations can be completed in either English or Chinese.
Application Deadline Q: When
is the closing date for applicants? A:
The closing date for applicants is 10 June, 2003.
Q: Will late applications be
accepted? A: Generally speaking,
late applications will not be considered, but if there are some
vacancies left, we would like to accept it.
Testing
Applicants don't need to take any entrance examination. We select
them based on their previous academic records (GPA) and the
phone interview.
Interviews Q: What will be the
language medium of the interview (English or Chinese Putonghua)?
A: The interview will be done in bilingual
language, both English and Putonghua. Q:
Will it be possible for SJTU to accept students purely based
on their academic record as is the practice of other universities?
A: The telephone interview should be done.
We have promised the Educational Ministry that interviews will
take place of entrance examinations to get qualified students.
Originally we planned to be in HK for the face-to-face interview,
but has been cancelled due to SARS.
Offer Acceptance Q: How long
will be offer be valid? A:
After the telephone interview, we will issue the offers to the
accepted applicants immediately. Then the applicants will do
as required. The offer will be valid for 10 days.
Course fees Q: Are course
fees refundable? A: Course
fees are not refundable.
Q: Is course fees payable
in parts or as a whole? A:
They are paid as a whole, e.g. for a semester or a year.
Q: Any availability of scholarship
or financial aid? A: We offer
scholarships to outstanding students once an academic year,
1 out of 10 students have the chance to get it. But there is
not much money for each scholarship. The highest one is 1000
RMB. We don't provide any financial assistance to
students.
Transfer
Q: Can students transfer from one
program to others? What are the application procedures?
A: Students can transfer from one program
to others within two weeks after they start. Ss should apply
to the school first for approval.
Course Titles
The detailed course descriptions of the four programs have
been presented in both English and Chinese on the web-site
Exemptions
Q: What are the exemption procedures?
A: If the student thinks he is quite
good at some subject and hopes to be exempted, he should apply
first and then take the related test at the start of each
semester. He can be exempted from that subject if he passes
the test. The course fees are not refundable, but he can select
another subject he is interested in from other programs offered
in School of Adult Education.
Examinations
Q: Are students allowed to use Traditional
(i.e. not simplified) Chinese characters to answer assignment
and examination questions?
A: For the first year students can do
the exercises and answer the test questions in English. For
the second year, they will be encouraged to do everything
in Chinese. Both simplified and traditional Chinese to answer
the questions are acceptable.
Q: How many examinations will be
held each year? When will they be held?
A: There will be 4 or 5 courses for
a semester. The final tests will be given for each course
in Week 19 20. We have 18 weeks for teaching and two weeks
for final examinations. The fall semester starts in Sept.
and ends in January. The spring semester starts in late Feb.
and ends in early July.
Semester Break
Q: When will the semester break
be?
A: There is no semester break, except
the week-long holidays for May.1st and Oct.1st.
Q: Are there courses offered during
the semester break?
A: Usually there are no courses offered
during the semester break. However, some short courses can
be provided based on students’ requirement.
Student Visa
Q: How to apply for a student visa?
A: Students of Hong Kong coming to Mainland
China don't need to apply for visas, but they should apply
"Returning Permission"(回乡证) from HK authority. After
they arrive in Shanghai, we will make a report of their arrival
to the local authority within a certain period of time. |
